Amy MacDougall, MA, NBEFC-T

As a Personal Development and Family consultant, my approach is grounded in an extensive study of human behavior and development, including a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and an Advanced Certificate in School Psychology. My background also includes advanced doctoral-level training in neuropsychology, which provides me with a deep understanding of how the brain processes information and manages the complexities of daily life.

This academic foundation, combined with first-hand experience navigating the complexities of modern family life and a former career as a business professional, allows me to bring a nuanced, real-world perspective to the issues affecting individuals and families. While my background is rooted in the clinical world, my work here is focused on practical guidance—not therapy. I help clients navigate complex situations and develop the skills needed to move forward with purpose.

As a Nationally Board Certified Executive Function Coach, I offer a specialized lens for navigating the logistical demands of professional and family life. This includes helping students develop the focus and organization needed to reach their potential in school, even when executive function challenges feel overwhelming. I believe that the most meaningful clarity is the kind you own and can act upon. My goal is to provide the thoughtful guidance and practical tools needed to make sense of life’s complexities, helping you build a stable and confident future.

Areas of Focus

  • IEP & 504 Strategy: Helping parents navigate the complexities of educational support. I consult with families to identify the specific accommodations and specialized instruction their child needs, preparing you to lead school meetings with confidence.

  • Executive Function & Focus: Building the self-trust and organization you (or your child) need to feel capable. I provide brain-based strategies to manage cognitive load—at school, at work, and in daily life.

  • Life Transitions: Practical guidance through major shifts, including parenting challenges, career pivots, and the logistical and emotional complexities of divorce and co-parenting.

  • Navigating the "Stuck" Points: Clarifying what matters most when you feel frustrated or uncertain. We identify your existing strengths to create a steady, functional path forward.

  • Effective Communication: Improving relationships and setting healthy boundaries that help your personal and professional connections thrive.
